Morocco Desert Discovery isn’t a tour company that read about the Sahara in a guidebook. I’m Brahim — I grew up in a village at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where the sand turns gold at sunrise and finds its way into everything you own. My family has been welcoming guests into the desert for over a decade, and we now run our tours from Marrakech, reaching every corner of this country we call home.
We plan private trips from Marrakech, Fes, Tangier, Rabat, Agadir, Ouarzazate and Errachidia — desert crossings, Atlas mountain passes, blue streets in Chefchaouen, ancient medinas in Fes where the smell of cedar shavings follows you for blocks. We’re a licensed, fully bonded Moroccan tour operator, but what that really means is: we’re a family that decided to do this properly, with our own drivers, our own guides, and our own standards.
No buses. No crowds. No scripts. Every trip is private — your people, your rhythm, your detours. We work directly with the riads, the desert camps, and the families we’ve known for years, so there are no middlemen and no inflated prices. Just honest planning from people who live here.

We are a locally-owned, Berber-led tour operator born in the Sahara Desert. Every Morocco desert tours we offer is privately guided, fully customizable, and built around authentic cultural experiences — not cookie-cutter itineraries.
Born and raised in the desert — our guides bring Morocco to life with authentic insider knowledge.
From traditional Berber tents to 5-star glamping — our Merzouga desert camps are the finest in Morocco.
Air-conditioned 4×4 Land Cruisers and minibuses on every Morocco desert trip.
What you see is what you pay. No hidden fees on any Morocco tour package.
Any tour, any duration, any departure city — adapted to your interests and pace.

There are plenty of companies selling Morocco desert tours online. The difference with us is simple: we’re from here. We know which desert camp cooks the best dinner under the stars, which dune ridge in the Erg Chebbi is quiet at sunrise, which mountain pass has the view that makes you stop the car and just stand there for a minute. That kind of knowledge doesn’t come from a supplier list — it comes from growing up in Merzouga and spending years on every road in this country.
We’ve built real relationships with the people who make your trip work — riad owners in Fes and Marrakech, camel handlers near our village, camp families in the Erg Chebbi. We eat with them, we visit them, we hold them to the standard we’d want for our own family. If a lodge or a camp drops below that standard, we stop using them for our Morocco desert tours. No exceptions.
We’ve put together routes we know work well — a 3-day Fes to Marrakech desert crossing, a 6-day Tangier to Marrakech loop, a 10-day grand circuit, quick day trips to Chefchaouen. But the best Morocco desert tours are usually the ones we build together from scratch. You tell us what matters — your dates, your budget, whether it’s a honeymoon or you’ve got three kids under ten — and we shape the rest around that.
What sets our Morocco desert tours apart isn’t just the route — it’s the people you meet along the way. We arrange stops the big operators can’t, because they don’t know these families. Tea with a nomad family in the dunes near our home, where you sit on a carpet and the conversation goes wherever it goes. An afternoon with Gnawa musicians in Khamlia — not a staged show, just people playing the music they’ve always played. A walk through a fortified kasbah in the Draa Valley where the keeper tells you its real history, not the guidebook version.
Every multi-day Morocco desert tour includes a night at a camp in the Erg Chebbi or Erg Chigaga dunes. You ride camels out as the sun drops, sleep under more stars than you knew existed, and wake up to watch the first light turn the sand gold. I’ve seen it hundreds of times and it still gets me. That part never gets old. Our vehicles are comfortable — air-conditioned 4x4s for desert routes, larger vans when you need them — and every driver is Berber, knows the roads by heart, and speaks English. Many speak French, Spanish or Italian too.
We’ve planned Morocco desert tours around every kind of interest — Game of Thrones locations at Aït Ben Haddou, birdwatching in Souss-Massa, photographers who needed a specific ridge before first light, couples who just wanted a quiet camp and a clear sky. Whatever the shape of your trip, we’ll make it fit. When you’re ready, send me a message — I’m Brahim, and I’ll write back myself. From the first email to the airport drop-off, you’re dealing with us. Not a call centre. Not a chatbot. A family that’s proud of where we’re from, and wants you to see why.
Tea’s on us when you arrive.
